Long weekend love

Sadly my queens birthday Monday has flown by a little too fast for my liking, but I cant really complain, the awful miserable weather fined up the last few days and good ol mother earth gave us one last taste of summers heat. Today was spent doing a little refreshing house cleaning, a nice walk with my pal rach down to the water and cooking. Cooking/ baking and walking around this city are two of my favorite things to be doing at the moment...

Wait, maybe I should backtrack just a little... I have been completely useless on here for a few months- this city means Auckland. I moved up here about 2 months ago into a sweet area called Grey Lynn, a stones through from Ponsonby and the city centre.

Grey Lynn is jam packed with adorable old villas that stand neatly in rows upon rows. Each done up in their own unique way and yet they all seem to suit each other perfectly. The Ponsonby kinda crowd fill the pathments with inspirational style and funk and up the street adorable, not to mention delicious, cafes, restaurants and out-of-reach boutiques for window shopping, share walls and embrace a perfect atmosphere.

My street backs onto a nice little park too, which is forever infested with stylish parents and their ultra cool next generation tots. I have to admit I grew up with some pretty harsh sterotypes on Auckland and never thought of myself as a jaffa kinda girl, but since getting here every single sterotype has been crushed and replaced with a little bit of love for the place. I smile everytime I think how I moved across the other side of the world in search of an amazing city (NYC) when all this time there was one so much better suited to me in my own backyard. I only wish my camera hadn't decided to die so I could actually capture some of what I speak to show you.

Anywho I digress- this post was really meant to be about me feeling excited (yes excited!) about winter. Anyone who knows me will know this is quite a milestone- for me to look forward to and not try and fight (or move countries) to keep it from coming. There maybe a number of reasons for this change of heart but I know that one is the fashion- and this year I'm a little bit obsessed with trousers and what you can do with them. I had plenty of time to get a little stalking in on my personal favourite style stars this weekend so I thought i'd better share.....

Of course the painfully stunning Alexa Chung is at the top of my list...

But Kate Bosworth has me a little obsessed with the harem style business look

So I decided to jump online and find a pair of my own to order

Such style and class and funk- how can you not fall in love!? I can feel a shopping spree coming on, but for now I can smell my home made museli bars wafting down the hallway which means they must be about ready to come out from the oven- I might have to share that recipe with you next time too- its amazing and such a healthy little snack that feels like a treat <3 Hope your weekend was perfect too!
