Love More

There are simply too many words and reasons of why i love photos. so so many i feel overwhelmed just thinking about explaining to you. I couldnt possibly get them all out on paper.... But if your like me, maybe you will simply understand the feeling you get when you see a photo you like. it could be a million or one reason of why you like it, but for some reason, that one photo by someone you know, somewhere you like or dislike, or someone you have never known, will never know, in a place you don't know. It doesn't matter.  It makes you feel something so strongly. i like it.

Lately i have been enjoying flicking through the blog LoveMore at so many pictures and they make me smile and feel all sorts of things at once. So i thought i would share a few with you. its like a get happy quick exercise...
My captions were my immediate feeling of why i love these pictures.

Comment away...

So the seed has once again been planted- shall I go brown?! Personally I have always preferred darker haired people. Mainly because I feel as though it balances an outfit better since I don't like bright colours. Generally meaning my wardrobe consist of pastel or earthy colors and black. It always bugs me when I have a nice outfit on that I've perfectly colour co-ordinated and then bam up top all white and blonde. I also turn green with envy every time I see some babe rocking red lippy better then me because she has wicked dark hair making it more classic then trash. BUT every time I get this little seed of thought stuck in my head I wimp out purely from flashbacks of when I did take the plunge. It wasn't planned, it wasn't pretty, it wasn't a good color or cut and its fair to say I looked like crap. And of course it took forever to get my blonde locks back! Not to mention the damage to my wallet and hair.

This time the thought comes from the pure expense of maintaing a nice blonde and the departure abroad of my best pal and the best hair dresser in the world Casey. This has left me with failed attempts at random hairdressers since. So after OBSESSING at work all afternoon and trying to take pictures with workmates hair hanging over my own head I decided to use a higher power to see what I should do = Facebook. And by the time I got home from work I was overwhelmed with yes yes yes from fellow friends. So the mission is on......brown or not?

Firstly- me. My hair is a tiny longer now. I have brown eyes and most of the year fair skin. Granted I'd need to keep tabs on my eyebrows!

The Options...

The beautiful Alexa Chung rocks the balayage

Copper which I fell in love with on Ashlee Simpson

A lighter brown on Ashley Tinsdale

Dreamy dark brown on Nicole Richie which I'm quite sure I couldn't pull off but oh man I wish I could!

Another dreamy way too dark shot of the stunning Zooey Deschanel

Inspire

One thing I really do love about Auckland is that there is always fun things to do with great people! I didn't have any plans this weekend and my bank account was looking equally as empty but once again its Sunday evening and I'm finding myself smiling at my lovely weekend!

One huge exciting thing that happened was getting a new camera so finally I'm back in action, be prepared to be bombarded with a story board of my entire life for the next few months at least.

Friday night was spent with a few drinks in an old school artsy drama room watching stand up comedy. Saturday brought a little op shopping and home made sushi sesh and then today after clambering out of bed feeling a little seedy I had, well, a rather awful brunch at a cute looking place in Parnell (don't be fooled, the change in ownership was a massive killer and triggered a brutal hangover) with my good pal Rach...

... Then after a short power nap my flat mate and friend dragged me back out of bed to visit a friend at a craft market up the road ( which I will posting more about soon). We left there feeling full of inspiration so hit up a few fabric shops on the way home for yummy tea and brainstorming. Tonight we headed out to Mission Bay for an early picnic dinner of fish and chips on the beach side, pity it was freezing, but blankets by the beachside only made it all the more romantic...

....and just like that its back to work tomorrow! Hope your weekend was filled with loads of beautiful people and things too xxx

You're always on my mind

Im not sure about you but once I watch a good or even just an interesting movie it plays on my mind and in my dreams for weeks! Haunting my everyday life with what ever message it set out to send. Heres a few that have been playing on my mind of late that you should definitely checkout on a rainy day in bed...

Never Let me go
With a pretty perfect line up cast including Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightly. This movie is highly disturbing but so well done its hard not to love it anyway

Blue Valentine
With the adorable Michelle Williams and romantic Ryan Gosling

Nowhere Boy
My favorite kind of movie and with a strangely handsome fellow, Aaron Johnson. I hadn't heard of him before but after a little stalking found he has been the lead in a number of films I have watched lately and everytime I have thought he was weirdly attractive- never realized it was the same person

People at their best

Among many amazing beautiful and exciting adventures this past weekend was the purchase of the most wonderful pants in the world! As a bit of a laugh I tried on a pair of full length leathers attempting to be as cool as Alexa Chung and, to mine and my friend Vickies surprise, fell in love! So even though I was using the last of my rent money for a highly un-necessary item they couldn't be left behind!!!  I came home and did a little stalking of some of the most beautifully dressed people online to sus the best way to wear them and thought it was worth sharing just in case you wanted to give it a go too xxx

First things first Alexa effortlessly shows us how its done for any occasion

MaryKate reminds us she can make anything look amazing

Long weekend love

Sadly my queens birthday Monday has flown by a little too fast for my liking, but I cant really complain, the awful miserable weather fined up the last few days and good ol mother earth gave us one last taste of summers heat. Today was spent doing a little refreshing house cleaning, a nice walk with my pal rach down to the water and cooking. Cooking/ baking and walking around this city are two of my favorite things to be doing at the moment...

Wait, maybe I should backtrack just a little... I have been completely useless on here for a few months- this city means Auckland. I moved up here about 2 months ago into a sweet area called Grey Lynn, a stones through from Ponsonby and the city centre.

Grey Lynn is jam packed with adorable old villas that stand neatly in rows upon rows. Each done up in their own unique way and yet they all seem to suit each other perfectly. The Ponsonby kinda crowd fill the pathments with inspirational style and funk and up the street adorable, not to mention delicious, cafes, restaurants and out-of-reach boutiques for window shopping, share walls and embrace a perfect atmosphere.

My street backs onto a nice little park too, which is forever infested with stylish parents and their ultra cool next generation tots. I have to admit I grew up with some pretty harsh sterotypes on Auckland and never thought of myself as a jaffa kinda girl, but since getting here every single sterotype has been crushed and replaced with a little bit of love for the place. I smile everytime I think how I moved across the other side of the world in search of an amazing city (NYC) when all this time there was one so much better suited to me in my own backyard. I only wish my camera hadn't decided to die so I could actually capture some of what I speak to show you.

Anywho I digress- this post was really meant to be about me feeling excited (yes excited!) about winter. Anyone who knows me will know this is quite a milestone- for me to look forward to and not try and fight (or move countries) to keep it from coming. There maybe a number of reasons for this change of heart but I know that one is the fashion- and this year I'm a little bit obsessed with trousers and what you can do with them. I had plenty of time to get a little stalking in on my personal favourite style stars this weekend so I thought i'd better share.....

Of course the painfully stunning Alexa Chung is at the top of my list...

But Kate Bosworth has me a little obsessed with the harem style business look

So I decided to jump online and find a pair of my own to order

Such style and class and funk- how can you not fall in love!? I can feel a shopping spree coming on, but for now I can smell my home made museli bars wafting down the hallway which means they must be about ready to come out from the oven- I might have to share that recipe with you next time too- its amazing and such a healthy little snack that feels like a treat <3 Hope your weekend was perfect too!
