I miss you so, but I don't need you, no....

Lucky lucky me, my allergies have piped up again and are giving me hell, meaning I have had to resort back to a vegan diet with no soy. Ouch! How I miss dairy!!! But the good news is I have been doing a little research and a lot of cooking and found its actually kind of fun finding new recipes...

Healthy and tasty potato chips with delish herbs

Spinach, tomato, olive, onion, sunflower seed risotto

And scrummy oat and raisin cookies

YUM!

reason.season.lifetime.

A few months ago a friend told me about this poem and the meanings and ideas it represents and although I hadn't actually read it, I held onto these ideas tightly for some reason finding comfort in its message. I recently looked it up and since can not stop reading it. I have found it not only gives me peace in many relationships in my past and future but in a lot of other areas of my life too.
There's something so refreshing about meeting people and then accepting your fate and letting them go. It makes me want to be so mindful of everyone I meet for how ever short or long I know them for, not only the people who help me. It also releases a little anguish I have on my current friendships. I have such amazing friends ALL over the country and world, some I  have known a very short time and wish so badly I could have had more time with, and some I have known for a long time. I fear I will not see them again or as much as I would like and its a really unsettling feeling for me. Growing or been forced apart for what ever reason. This poem gives me a little faith to let some people go and just be thankful that they came at all. Anyway I thought since I seem to be firing it around a few pals, in the hope they will find comfort in some way that relates to them too, I should just share it with everyone and anyone here....

People come into your life for
a Reason
a Season
or a Lifetime.

unknown

When you know which one it is,
you will know what to do for that person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.

They have come to assist you through a difficulty,
to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then,
without any wrongdoing on your part
or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something
to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met,
our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered
and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON,
because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real.
But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,
things you must build upon in order
to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson,
love the person
and put what you have learned to use
in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life,
whether you were a Reason, a Season or a Lifetime.

I can't get you off my mind

Travel. All day long its all I can dream about, long summer days in the dusty streets of Granada, meadows in Tuscany, shopping in London, pizza ( I have an unhealthy obsession for pizza) in Barcelona, discovering the cobbled paths and allies in Amsterdam, underground drama skits in Argentina, backpacking through Cambodia and deserted beaches in Zakynthos. I could go on and on all day, oh the places I want to see. My best friend Vickie and I have dreamt for so many years the idea of tripping around europe with way too much time, a backpack and camera. Not having a clue of all the things we "should" be doing. Museums, history, tours aren't really us, our travels seem to consist more of befriending locals, dining in exquisite places, walking around with no map until our feet bleed and we are lost as we can be and discovering trinkets off the beaten track, usually by mistake. Maybe its the thick of winter starting to get to me but I really could dream, plan, wish, aim, research and talk about travel allllllll dayyyyyyyy  looonnnnggggggg right now! Time to make it happen me thinks!

So dreammyyy ahhhhh......love!

I would like a pet lamb please

Today it felt a little bit like spring, which is exciting for many reasons, but for some reason the thing that i got most excited about was lambs. When i was a little critter spring was my favourite season of the year cause it meant i got my pet lamb for the year and we could play with calves down the farm all day. seriously how cute are calves!!?? I need to make friends with a farmer nearby so i can go and give them cuddles all day again! Anyway i digress, for some reason i cant stop thinking about adorable little lambies and how cute they are shaking their tails when you bottle feed them. So in my weird and bored mood i googled them....

Seriously! How does this make you feel?! I have been rather sick and run down this winter and people keep saying to me "you need to start eating meat" but how can you!? Look at this!? i could never, i really dont understand how the everyday person can!

To sum up I would really like a pet lamb this year please. and now i think i might go to bed and get so much needed sleep.

Sunday

Sadly this Sunday my camera was dead with no charger nearby BUT I did have a lovely day in the very beautiful Waihi Beach with my friend Mel. It was a beautiful sunny day where t's and walks down the beach were essentials- could almost smell summer in the air- I wish! Luckily my camera was alive and well for saturday though. I spent the morning (early frosty frosty morning) with my darling friend Anna. I took her on a cheesy little birthday picnic in the gardens with cupcakes and hot cups of tea....

Best cupcakes ever! Huge thanks to the wonderful Karla from Bluebells Cakery who saved me with this quick cupcake fix last minute. So cute and scrummy definitely recommended next time you need a special something or delish fix checkout her sweet website here for fun and yum ideas or catch her at the french markets in Parnell Sundays!

Next my friend Sarah and I popped along to a friends wedding. It was a sweet little service and I was so happy to see them tie the knot! Congrats guys xxx

...Makes winter seem a little less awful.

when im feeling blue

I simply pull out my most favourite book- Oh the places you'll go By Dr Seuss- and suddenly everything in life feels a little bit clearer. Maybe you would like to read too...

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go...

Cosset

I keep forgetting to mention this adorable cafe that my girl vickie took me to a few weekends back. Its called COSSET and is located in Mt Albert, a stones throw from a thriving Kingsland. It is all vegetarian cuisine and will quite seriously melt your heart. I know vickie and I couldn't wipe the silly smilies off our faces the entire breakfast as we marveled the adorable service (blankets and hot water bottles are given to the people outside on colder days, friendly chit chat from sweet staff and only the very best independent magazines keep your dining interesting), creative crafts and decor and amazing food. The cafe also pride themselves on art and music entertainment nights and expo's and claim to be a place to come hangout anytime and make your selves at home. Something thats not at all hard to do, and with it open late nights wednesday-sunday its easy to nestle in and call it your own! They welcome new music, crafts or art exhibitionists to pop in and show their skills and are conscientious as ever about their light carbon footprint and fair trade. All round a perfect little hideaway and cafe experience that comes
Seriously Highly Recommended!
