Just because i love them

lately i have had such an overload of magazine subscriptions that its gotten to the point where i grab them and flick through looking for my favorite faces and ignoring the rest. and now that we have are changing seasons im getting excited and starting to seek inspiration in fashion for fall (my favorite season of all to dress for)-of course these lovely ladies are, for me, the best to search.....

this weekend i am going on vacation to Colorado, which to me means, cold! i cant wait to pack my leather gloves, hats, beanies, boots, tights, jeans, scarves, jackets, cardis........everything cosy and amazing yay!

sentimental heart

i have so much to share with you..but sadly im feeling pretty ill so im snuggled up in bed sipping green tea and need to keep it short and get some sleep to rest my little sore sickly body....
firstly i want to share this recipe with you, its my favorite tomato soup one- so easy and healthy too. we got a whole heap of tomatoes from the neighbours garden so what else could we do but make scrummy yummy soup!



Tomato soup
1 sml onion 1 sml carrot olive oil 1 garlic clove 1tsp plain flour salt and pepper 400g can chopped tomatoes tomato puree thyme leaves 450ml vege stock squeeze lemon juice 1 Tbs sugar

soften onion and carrot on saucepan with oil. Add garlic and flour, mix together before adding puree, tomatoes salt and pepper, thyme, stock, sugar, lemon juice and bring to boil.
Turn down and simmer for 20-25 min
Blend together
Enjoy!

Secondly heres a few pic from my weekend in New York City that i would like to share

i finally found the grand central markets that i had heard so much about, it was all very cute and exciting but i had sadly just eaten so didnt get to purchase anything this time around....

we went for a stroll through central park and visited the resting place of John Lennons ashes at his strawberry fields memorial
then we found a nice spot in the shade to hangout and listen to some sweet little tunes on the ukulele....





then we went down to Union Square in the lower east side and checked out the amazing atmospheric Hookah Lounge


AND how lucky to have come across this sweet little vintage store on our way home!

these are just some random pretty pictures from some of my favourite blogs. im not really sure why i like them but for some reason i do.


Now im going to tell you something and every girl out there, if you haven't already, MUST follow this advice.....watch Sleepless and Seattle. i had never seen it. im not sure i even knew i had never seen it, but now that i have seen it i KNOW i would have remembered that movie if i has seen it before! it is so beautiful and cute and simply adorable. plus yowza Meg Ryan i never knew you were such a babe, totally crushing on her old self right now!


lastly i want to quickly tell you about my book again, yes i am still reading Eat Pray Love (it takes me forever to read books, i like to take my time especially with the really good ones) anywho she is now in Bali and this section and destination is by far my favorite to read about, and not really because of the new person in her life, which is interestingly, but her life style there sounds so perfect and dreamy to me, not that i would ever go to bali myself. in fact i was already dead set against the place due to my strong disgust and sadness from their religious and justice system and even though im loving this part of the book and even though she sounds like shes living in heaven, reading this has confirmed my decision to boycott the country... interesting. but i digress the real reason i am bringing this up is this:
"i have the tendency to not only see the best in everyone, but to assume that everyone is emotionally capable of reaching his highest potential. i have fallen in love more times then i care to count with the highest potential of a man, rather then with the man himself, and then i have hung on to that relationship for a long time (sometimes far too long) waiting for that man to ascend to his own greatness. many times in romance i have been a victim of my own optimism."

as i read this i cant help but agree i too have done the same thing far too many times i life. im not sure i would use the word love but in life definitely. just a thought....i wonder how many people can too relate to this.....

i love that name and this post is filled with so many different treats that i cant sum them all up with one title- better to group it all together as something beautiful, like this name.

each day as i drive to my local beach spot through my favorite little town, old greenwich, i pass this sweet looking vintage furniture store called Design on Putnam and think to myself i must stop there and take photos. actually going inside would to me just be torture. seeing all those wonderful things that i couldn't buy as of course i have no house to home them. but today on my merry way i stopped, and to my delight the inside was even more beautiful then the outside, out the back there was a pile of beautiful junk labeled "free" and low and behold there was even a fun little clothes section to trawl through...








definitely worth the stop...so as i continued on my path i found even more reason to also stop at the ice cream shop that had been recommended to me in Old Greenwich, and once again, very glad. i did get in trouble for taking photos (oops) but i'd still recommend you go there, its very sweet and a lot like a place my best friend vickie and i use to dream of creating when we worked together in an ice cream store over our summers, so i had an added little buzz from this place...




then finally to the beach i went which in one word was perfect. after i headed to my good friend Taylahs place. she has been an important and much appreciated person in my life since moving here to the states and it is her last night living in our neighbourhood :( Her house is beautiful and just one of the many breathtaking beauties in this neighbourhood and since she is now leaving this abode i thought i would take some pictures and maybe more for my mum and dad (and the house stalking ritual that has been engrained on me through them) show you a sneak peak inside one of these magnificent westchester county homes....
